Hey Kiddies.. who the hell cares about Longhorn and all the hype... you DO have a choice ya know.... Linux and open source... and it does just about anything and everything Windoze does. Nobody says you HAVE to use windows as an O/S ...all you have to do is get off your fat butt and learn something about it. Bugs?? Microsoft, for marketing reasons usually doesn't like to talk about security problems or bugs if they can help it.... However, If they are found in a Linux distribution they are immeadiatly acknowledged and fixed as quickly as possible. The open source movement scares the hell out of Microsoft, that's why the are funding SCIO's lawsuits thru the back door.

Bush's actions affect (and in alot of cases pisses off) the rest of the world.
And before you say @#$%^&* the rest of the world, WE "ALL" GOTTA LIVE WITH THE MESS BUSH MAKES.
So don't even think of going there!!!!!!!!!!

Microsoft's actions only affect it's own pocketbook.

No-one will give a rats ass if Microsoft delays LongHorn for 5 years
let alone a few months.
I and so many others would rather them delay the release so that
they can do some actual testing. And make sure that 9 out of 10
people won't be phoning and paying for tech support.
(And on a side note: they NEED the revenue generated by
tech support, so there's no incentive for bugless software!)

It's all about money! They need to ship product working or not
in order to maintain their ridiculously overinflated undeserved revenue.
I bet if they could collect money from beta testers, they wouldn't be
in such a big rush.

Microsoft does not do testing or pay for testing. They rely on
volunteers (who could be sooooooo stupid???) to do testing of
betas.
Maybe that's a good thing. Firstly, If 'they' tested, things would
probably be worse, and secondly, that expense would be passed
on to US the consumers.

Well Bush IS Bill Gates' personal puppet.

Hence the fact that when Bush came to power, the DOJ
was ordered to Leave Microsoft alone.

They both deserve each other.

Poor Bush though, you just know that as his likelihood
of being re-elected decreases, Microsoft is leaving him
high and dry, and is starting to flirt (bribe) with Kerry.

Yes this happens to everyone,
But ONLY MIcrosoft cares m ore for money than for agood product.
In fact, despite bad press and publicity, Microsoft actually MAKES
money whenever there is a bug.

Microsoft is more interested in meeting deadlines of SALES so they
can make money, than they are in releasing a properly tested,
stable and working O/S.

Never ever compare them to another software company.
That is a blatantly disrespectful insult to the rest of the industry!!!

The only thing that makes them like Bush, is they don't
DESERVE to win!!!

If/When either wins, America pays dearly!

I dont think anyone slams Microsoft for not getting something
out on time. Microsoft imposes it's own deadlines, not the rest
of the world. If they can't predict time properly that's their problem.

Don't make it the rest of the world's problem by ramming unfinished
buggy software down our throats.

Take the time to finish it, TEST IT, and ensure a qorking stable
quality product before releasing it.

It's about time they stop this routine of:
"Just get it out, and lets' start collecting money.
We'll fix it later"

And stop making us BUY the fixes by putting the major
fixes in the "next version".
Where's the incentive to make GOOD software. If it's perfect
no one will need the next version... Good scam!!!

Isn't EVERY @#$%^&*ING release
"the most significant release of Windows since Windows 95" ???

I'm still using Windows NT, and Windows 98SE.
After years of bug fixes and updates, they finally work well.
Now I'm supposed to drop it all, and rejoin the world of instability,
bugs, holes, and crashes JUST because Microsoft desperately
needs all my hard earned money?
Besides, what does anything NEWER offer that I absolutely
can't live without?? (Gee, I must be dead now and don't know it.)

This whole staying 2 or 3 generations back is, cheaper, more
reliable, and it doesn't put UNDESERVED money in Bill Gates' pocket.

Maybe when they release Windows 2010, I'll start looking at
Windows 2000. By then they should have worked out all the
bugs and issues in Windows 2000.

Anybody that blindly jumps into Microsoft's latest anything
is in for a world of hurt.

Functionalities being dropped:

* An animated blue screen of death (including advertisements for Microsoft products);

* Integrating the filesystem with java, javascript, jscript, javavm, and just about everything else that will add no functionality but open a 1000 more security holes;

* New GUI effects that will make the desktop just as slow on a 3GHz CPU as it was on a 1GHz one under XP, just to keep up with the times (they can be disabled for a faster system, but the settings mysteriously come back every so often);

* New internet services nobody needs installed by default, and firewall that doesn't block Microsoft's own spyware;

* New pop-up blocker, which pops up a window telling you it's blocked the popup;

* New driver system which intentionally causes instability in non-certified drivers (which isn't really new, actually...);

* New device manager with even more useless features that don't help real problems - but it will have animated device icons;

* More rollback and system restore features. Use all that hard drive space you've got going spare to weekly restore all those viruses and trojans (and Microsoft settings);

* New registry registry. Keeps a database of all changes to the registry, including changes to the registry of the registry and even changes to the registry of the registry of the registry. Allows up to 40 different impossible-to-tell-apart versions of the same DLL to be stored on hard drive;

* A new troubleshooter that jumps directly to the "This troubleshooter cannot help your problem" page, saving a lot of time;

* Easy OS fix feature. Contains a copy of WindowsXP on disk, and reinstalls it automatically it whenever one of those essential boot files gets corrupted for no good reason. Again.

And finally:

* More half-assed and badly implemented stolen Linux features. Back due to popular demand.

INSERT RANT====>>>
Their last period of testing is when their (Unstable Beta) is released to us as a finished product and we bug test for them . . . Micro$oft are the masters of creating the initial bugs and releasing fixes which cause more problems than they fix and so it goes on

Basically never adopt an M$ product until it is 12 months old and stable and SECURE (if there is such a thing from Micro$oft)

As for bush what the hell are you on? bush win ? he could nt even win the election without dubious actions. Cannot win - or doesnt deserve to win? It scares me that a guy with an IQ of 85 could make it as far as the White House in the first place! No wonder he didnt understand the threat of Al Quaida and 9/11

"b) Having bugs!"

yeah, because that doesn't happen to every single piece of software ever created...

maybe you should try software development before you criticize another company's approach to it, you'd find it can be difficult sometimes, to remove every single bug in a piece of software in the amount of time you thought you could...
