Apple’s Leopard O/S on hold
p2pnet.net news:- Apple has put the release of its Leopard O/S on hold.
Why? Because its ambitions may be getting in the way of its ability to achieve them.
That’s the view of the Mercury News which points out that in the past two months, the company has delayed two high-profile products, the Apple TV set-top box and now, it’s help up Leopard because it had to, “pull some of its engineering and quality assurance personnel from that project to help out with the iPhone”.
The much-hyped device, slated for release in June, “will contain a new, slimmed-down version of the OS X operating system,” says the story, going on, “By delaying Leopard in favor of the iPhone, Apple is obviously showing which product it thinks is more important. Given the hype around the iPhone and its potential, that’s not surprising.”
The Mercury News quotes an Apple statement which says, “Life often presents trade-offs, and in this case we’re sure we’ve made the right ones.”
