Blaming a weapon for the massacre is like blaming silverware for Rosie O'Donnell being fat. I do agree with you that violence-glorifying media probably had a role. There was less violence in the so called Wild West than there is today, and many more people back then carried guns. Add a heath care system that provides limited access for people with mental health problems and you have a recipe for disaster. I personally wasn't in the area at the time (although I was in a nearby building on campus), but I know someone who says that they were, and he was pretty messed up by the experience. Everybody else here is now either watching the news with everybody else or just trying to enjoy their day off.
