Record labels nail Catholic official
p2pnet.net news:- Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s IFPI has nailed an official of the Catholic church in Rome.
The man, a sacristan working at the Naples’ main cathedral, the Duomo di Napoli, and his son were arrested by Rome’s Fiscal Police (GdF) from Rome, says ag-IP-News.
“The case led to the arrest of 11 members of a criminal organisation, headed by a man the police refer to as ‘F.V.’ from Naples, as well as the seizure of 143 burners, 14,000 pirate CDs and DVDs, 222,000 jewel boxes and 40,000 inlay cards,” says the IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industry) adding:
“The sacristan and his son were identified as the major suppliers to the organisation of downloaded music and movie pre-releases from internet. The alleged members of the criminal gang are facing a 400-count indictment.”

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
