p2pnet newsletter back online
p2pnet.net news:- Last year I was forced to pull the daily [ P ] 2 [P ] N [ E ] T . L [ E ] T newsletter which, for reasons unknown, suddenly started firing out up to nine copies at a time to individual subscribers. And at my end, it was compiling every post not only day in, day out, but also month in, month out.
A lot of people asked for it to be re-started, but it just couldn’t be done at the time.
However, programmer Bob Bryant took a look last week and managed to sort things out. So starting at midnight CST tonight, the p2pnet newsletter will be back online.
Obviously, subscribers (it’s strictly by request) already know what it’s all about. But for anyone who isn’t on the list, it’s a tiny, text-only email and it looks like this (from the first three entries from today’s, which we’re starting a Vol 3, Edition 1):
Monday, May 7
$65 million for a pair of pants
Judge’s demand - http://p2pnet.net/story/12151
Rebellion in the eMusic ranks
Threats to ‘pull, or limit,’ content - http://p2pnet.net/story/12150
German Net forum ops ‘liable’
Hamburg court ruling - http://p2pnet.net/story/12149
Recipients have to register. Otherwise how would we know where to send it? But as we promise on the registration sign-up form, “The information you provide is for us, and no one else. That’s a promise and a carved-in-rock guarantee.”
What do we ask for? User ID; Full name, or nickname; email address; date of birth.
Cheers! And sorry for the loooong delay …

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
