This is very shaky ethically. The California District Attorney&#039;s Association CDAA has taken a lot of gifts from RIAA at their yearly conventions, and that relatively small &quot;donation&quot; is used to gain entree to give a lot more, and get more prosecutions. 

Those actually charged with criminal acts should look very closely at the DA charing them to see if that DA was given funds or equipment, or any other kind of help, from some industry group. If they were, it may be possible to throw that back at them in court.
