MySpace hands over sex list
p2pnet.net news:- MySpace says it’ll meet the demands of attorney generals in a number of US states who want information on registered sex offenders who use the site.
“It is our understanding that the data from Sentinel reveals that thousands of known sex offenders have been confirmed as MySpace members,” said a recent letter from the AGs.
MySpace will “immediately begin sharing data” on registered sex offenders who’ve been identified and removed, says Associated Press.
“The company said federal privacy laws required the states to file subpoenas or other legal requests before it could release the information,” says the story.
“We hope to get requests from every state,” it has MySpace general counsel Mike Angus as stating. “From day one, we have preserved all the information in the hopes of getting these requests.”
Rupert Murdoch’s MySpace got the data from Sentinel Tech Holding with whom it has a database partnership and according to AP, Angus says MySpace has removed some 7,000 profiles from about 180 million.

Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
