p2pnet.net news:- The Big 4 record labels, one of whom is now is almost under new ownership, have ramped up their attacks on Russian music download site AllofMP3.com.
With the US Trade Representative Office acting as their front, Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG have for years been desperately trying to close down the site, one of the burgeoning list of web pages run by independent entrepreneurs and musicians who threatened the Big 4′s attempts to gain control of how, and by whom, music is marketed and sold online.
Now, “British police have arrested a 25-year-old man in east London in connection with an online voucher scheme used by Russian music download web site Allofmp3.com,” says The Moscow Times.
The man, who isn’t identified and who was later released, is accused of advertising and selling Allofmp3.com vouchers through the Allofmp3vouchers.co.uk web site and auction sites such as eBay.
Allofmp3vouchers.co.uk was blocked following the night-time raid and arrest, during which the police seized a computer and paperwork, says the story.
Allofmp3.com and its blog site were both down when we went for a look at 6:39 am Pacific. It was reporting server overload.
