Drop in Swedish music sales
p2pnet.net news:- Sweden’s corporate music industry saw the drop in record sales, “accelerate in the first four months of the year, after the fall had appeared to level off last year,” says The Local.
And guess what? It’s all down to those damned illegal file sharers, according to Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industry).
Adds the story, “Last year, turnover was down five percent, the smallest fall for several years, and the industry had hoped that the decline would stabilize. This hope has now been dealt a blow. Legal downloading is not increasing at the same rate as before.”
Could it be that music lovers are showing the Big 4 exactly what they think of the international campaign to try to sue them into buying product?
