Partial Nudity in Vista Halo 2
p2pnet.net news:- It’s unlikely that Take-Two and Rockstar will ever live down the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Hot coffee Sex scene scandal which continues to plague it.
And now Microsoft seems to have found partial nudity in the delayed Vista version of their Halo 2 game.
Next-Gen quotes an email from Microsoft which says::
It has come to our attention that an unfortunate, obscure content error which includes partial nudity was included in our initial production of ‘Halo 2′ for Windows Vista. As such, we have updated the initial game packaging at retailers with a label, so customers are aware before purchasing the game. Additionally, we’ve developed an online update which can be downloaded from www.halo2.com to remove the content.
Bill and the Boyz don’t say exactly what partial nudity means, exactly, where it’s found, why it was in the game in the first place, or who put it there.

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!

So it’s okay to show someone getting his head blown off or horribly mutilated, but try showing some animated nudity and there’s hell to pay.
Only in America.

I agree with you regarding violence v. nudity. This is not just an “American” problem however. This is a nearly worldwide issue. Granted, there are countries (particularly in Europe) that are contrary to this view but they are the exception.
And w/ respect to the nudity in Halo2, apparently this is it:
“The content in question, although likely to be inaccessible to the vast majority of users, displays a photograph of an individual showing his bare backside to the user when a particular error occurs . . .”
To your point, “mooning” somebody is less acceptable than relentless violence.
Go figure.
