I agree with you regarding violence v. nudity. This is not just an “American” problem however. This is a nearly worldwide issue. Granted, there are countries (particularly in Europe) that are contrary to this view but they are the exception.

And w/ respect to the nudity in Halo2, apparently this is it:

“The content in question, although likely to be inaccessible to the vast majority of users, displays a photograph of an individual showing his bare backside to the user when a particular error occurs . . .”

To your point, “mooning” somebody is less acceptable than relentless violence.

Go figure.

So it’s okay to show someone getting his head blown off or horribly mutilated, but try showing some animated nudity and there’s hell to pay.
