Resign! call to ARIA’s Peach

p2pnet.net News:- Australian music business analyst Phil Tripp wants ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) boss Stephen Peach to resign.

And if not that, he should at least be suspended “while Australian record companies and publishers audit his reported ‘CD Freeloading’ of pages of titles with multiple copies as printed in the Spike Column of the Sydney Morning Herald today,” says Tripp.

Peach was recently interviewed by Australia’s JJJ’s drivetime show when he said he’d had perhaps 10 free from ARIA record companies.

However, “Former longtime ARIA/PPCA PR consultant Marcella McAdam – an unimpeachable music professional with several years dedicated service to ARIA – revealed what many of us in the industry suspected,” states Tripp.

“While organisations like ARIA and major record companies like to play the robbed artist and songwriter card when lobbying government over supposed losses by consumers downloading music off the Internet, it will be interesting if they take action against their own for ‘freeloading’ mass quantities of CDs for which artists and songwriters do not get paid and that are supposed to be used solely for ‘promotional purposes – usually restricted to media and business samples.”

    Interesting. Anagram ARIA to RIAA.

Ask the average working stiff musician what they think of this butt-load of dung. This is the one of the biggest of the big lies we have been force fed for decades by the big labels. I consider the big five and their guard dogs the RIAA/ARIA etc to be robber baron bare faced criminals who repeatedly rip off their talent and the public.
