Trafalgar Square, greened up
p2pnet.net OT news:- Looks terrific, doesn’t it? It’s Britain’s famous Trafalgar Square, covered in turf. And it’s no trick pic.
As the BBC put it, more than 2,000 square metres of turf were laid as part of Visit London’s campaign, “to promote green spaces and villages in the city”.
The grass covered the square for two days last week during which visitors soaked up the sunshine in specially laid-out deckchairs, says the story.
The equally famous pigeons, “seemed put off by the 40 tonnes of turf, which was brought down from Yorkshire in northern England,” says Agence France-Presse.
