The Economist and the BSA? Objectivity? You might as well ask meth dealers how they feel about drug abuse. THEY say the “pirated” software is “worth $262″ per machine. The public, AKA “the market” seems to have a different opinion. Attempting to lock down stupidly overpriced software with DRM is not the answer, if that’s what your post was even about…

The entertainment industry is a hobbling toddler. The general populace is a graceful jogger. DRM is the toddler’s slippery chocolatey fingers fumbling madly in vein to yank the jogger’s shirt. It won’t be long until the jogger is a speck in the distance.
