EMI, YouTube accord
p2pnet.net news:- Copyright is all about the right to copy. Right? And YouTube and EMI say they’ve reached a mutually acceptable copyright agreement under which YouTube users will be able to copy, and play with, EMI videos.
“EMI and YouTube said they are still working on developing business models to generate revenue, particularly with regards to new areas such as allowing users to create ‘mash-up’ videos that include their own content alongside EMI music and clips,” says Reuters.
It’s the last of the Big 4, “to be convinced that YouTube’s technology [read consumer control system] would be sufficient to prevent rampant infringement by users,” says the story.
Is EMI, and its three partners in music crime, correct about this assumption?
Stay tuned.
