Adobe AIR beta online
p2pnet.net news:- Today is the day Adobe is slated to release a beta of AIR, formerly Apollo, designed to make web-native applications operate like desktop programs.
“The much-anticipated software, now called the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), is expected to introduce a new class of hybrid applications that meld the Web with the PC,” says ZDNet News.
A free AIR software development kit is online, as is the beta of Flex 3 for writing AIR applications, as well as Flash and HTML-based Web applications.
However. Bill and the Boyz are, “encroaching on the space Adobe currently reigns, however,” observes the IDG News Service.
“Microsoft has integrated a version of its .NET runtime into its new Silverlight Web technology which is aimed squarely at Adobe Flash. Silverlight can run video and multimedia applications cross-platform within different browsers,” it says.

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
