Semel out, Yang in

p2pnet.net news:- Yahoo founder Jerry Yang has taken over as the company’s ceo, replacing Terry Semel.

Was the shift in control made because of increasing visibility due to alleged human rights violations, signalling a change in policy and attitude?

No. Semel is leaving after Yahoo, “lost its lead in Internet advertising to Google and the shares fell 35 percent last year,” says Bloomberg News.

Yang will hire engineers and improve the company’s technology to regain ground, remarks which, “raised concern among investors” that it’ll, “increase spending when it may not have the resources to slug it out,” says story, going on, “If Yang stumbles, Yahoo, owner of the second most-popular Internet search engine, may fall further behind.”

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
