ISO loader in PSP firmware
p2pnet news | Games:- Sony has, “sneakily included an ISO loader in its recent PSP firmware update”.
And that, continues EuroGamer, means you can theoretically play games from your Memory Stick without using a UMD.
If you can find it, that is.
Does that spell the demise of the unpopular Universal Media Disc which, although it costs as much as a DVD, can only be played on Sony`s PlayStation Portable?
Its doom was foretold close to two years ago.
To further underscore the possibility that Sony’s UMD is on the way out, Absolute Gadget says Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has confirmed its intention to open a ‘PSP Store’ to allow gamers to download games and other content through a WiFi hook up.

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local politicians. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance. Don’t just complain. Do something!
