Barney and Mori Chack. Again ;p
p2pnet OT | off topic:- Way back I posted an item featuring Barney the Purple Dinosaur and that story, together with several follow ups, continues to show in p2pnet’s top posts, day after day, week after week, month after month.

It all started in August, 2005, when I quoted a Reader’s Write which said, “I was in Japan over the summer, spending time with a friend of mine.”
The topic? Japanese suicide pacts. The post went on:
I was shocked to see that a lot of Japanese school girls carry around ‘Gloomy Bear!’ Its a little ‘Japanified’ bear that has really long claws and kills people, and children seem to love him for it.
Japanese girls consider this VERY cute’ and when I asked them why, they had no answer’ just repeated ‘very cute’.
Yestyerday, in a comment post to the same article, “I love Gloomy Bear, and it doesn’t connect me with death,” says Danielle, going on:
I like a cute animal with a dark side.
But CUTE is all it is.
It’s not meant to have suicidal meaning behind it, well, not for most.
Everyone I know loves Gloomy Bear also.
So we carry around gloomy bear stuffed animals or keychains.?It doesn’t mean we have a deathwish.
It’s just a stuffed animal with a twist. LMFAO. A badass bear.
The animations, are on my myspace page.![]()
Maybe adults want to interpret as something more, but we teenagers, don’t.
“Wonder if Mori Chack will pick up on the possibilities?” – I wondered, in a follow up to the first post, him being the creator of Gloomy Bear along with similar bloodthirsty critturs.
In the most recent story, “I’d promised myself I wasn’t going to post about Barney the Revolting Purple Dinosaur again,” I said, breaking that promise.
heh
Cheers
Jon
