iPod jogger hit by lightning
p2pnet news | mobiles:- Under some circumstances, listening to an iPod can be dangerous – extremely dangerous – to health, it would seem.

A freak accident to an unlucky, and unidentified, jogger in Vancouver, BC, Canada, had, “all the hallmarks of a biblical smiting,” says the Canadian Press, going on:
“The man, who played in a church orchestra and was listening to religious music on an IPod while he ran, was injured when lightning struck a nearby tree, then snaked out to zap him as well.
“His eardrums were ruptured, his jaw fractured and he suffered first- and second-degree burns from his chest â where the device was strapped â up into his ear channels, along the trail of the IPod`s trademark white earphones. He also had burns down his left leg and on the foot, where the electricity exited his body, blowing his sneaker to smithereens in the process.”
But this wasn’t a recent event.
The lightning strike happened in the summer of 2005, but the story has only now come to light in a report in the New England Journal of Medicine, says CP.

” what is the significance of the ipod in this? ”
Don’t know.
However .. before you jump on this website for Ipod bashing, know that all of the
major news outlets ( saw this on Faux news ) are using the iPod slant, almost making it
sound as if the iPod attracts the bolts wrath.
Not even the most frothing iPod hater is fool enough to believe that.

i think he was referring to the biblical smiting portion of the topic, not just the title of the post.

Maybe because Apple tried to keep it secret in order keep sales high and to avoid health nuts from complaining that the device is unsafe. But really I don’t know.
