RIAA subpoenas Verizon
p2pnet news | RIAA news:- Last December Slashdot (What Questions Would You Ask an RIAA Expert?) and Groklaw (Another Lawyer Would Like to Pick Your Brain, Please) asked their communities for input on possible questions to pose to RIAA “expert” Dr Doug Jacobson of Iowa State University, said Groklaw in March.

At the time, Jacobson (right) was slated to be deposed in in UMG v Lindor, another of Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s sue ‘em all cases.
Lindor’s lawyer, Ray Beckerman, destroyed Jacobson’s evidence and the good doctor will be in for another dose of the same when Dutch P2P technology expert Dr Johan Pouwelse analyses it.
It’ll be highly embarrassing. For Dr Doug and the RIAA.
Now, out the blue, “four years after first serving a subpoena on Verizon, the RIAA has served a new subpoena duces tecum (subpoena for documents) in UMG v. Lindor,” says Beckerman in Recording Industry vs The People.
Might this sudden demand have a bearing on Jacobson’s previous grievous testimony, described by Beckerman as ‘junk science’?
Definitely stay tuned.
