NHS Trust hospitals looking for porn
p2pnet news | security:- National Health Service Trust hospitals in East and North Hertfordshire, England, are to have health protection of a different kind.
More than £70,000 (about $142,100) is to be spent to stop staff using hospital systems to find online pornography, says The Comet.
But Trust the story has spokesman Peter Gibson quickly pointing out the money won’t come from staffing budgets because it won’t be spent on manpower to monitor the web.
Instead, it’ll go on software, he said.
“We need to know that the staff at the NHS are using their computers for business purposes,” he says in the story.
“The viewing of porn sites is something that we have had little evidence of but we want to make sure that the IT systems are being used for a good purpose.
It is about protecting the Trust from malicious use”
