> IMO $8 for a porn PPV is a complete ripoff.

How about those DVD prices: $49 - $79 (USD) is standard! That's crazy!

The industry literally drives their customers to P2P with those prices!

P2P Porn is a great marketing tool. It's a great way to find the studios and stars that you like. I can, and do, pay for a fair amount of porn as a result (but I have to buy from the bargain bins or big sales -- I can't afford $50 DVDs).

You can't copyright the act, but you can copyright the "stars" just like you can with music artists and actors. OF COURSE you can't put a copyright on what they do.

@cyberscan, are you prude?

How can porn even be legally copyrighted is beyond me. The authors of the U.S. Constitution intended copyrights and patents to be used to promote the USEFUL arts and sciences. Porn does neither. If porn makers intend to use the law to sue file sharers, then maybe they should be sued for what their crap has done to corrupt the culture of nations.

If people just have to watch this crap, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE them to use peer to peer file sharing AND NOT TO pay for the crap. If these people (as well as the "entertainment" cartels) were put out of business, the world would be a better place.

Did they ever stop and think for a moment that maybe people are just becoming sick of porn? Tell me how long does one think they could produce the same old shit for decades and it not grow tired to even the most porn addicted person? You watch one porn and basically you seen them all. Hollywood at least has a bit more diversity. Its amazing the porn industry makes as much as it does these days with the advent of better entertainment. IMO $8 for a porn PPV is a complete ripoff. They are the ones shooting themselves in the foot here, don't blame the P2P users. All they did was help the porn industry and everyone knows this. Another example of blame everyone but themselves folks.
