eBay can be forced to block listings deemed harmful to young people
If a listing deemed harmful to young people comes to the attention of the company the Internet auction house eBay is obliged to block the same, the German Federal Supreme Court (BGH) ruled on Thursday.
Cheeky China company suing Google over name
A Chinese company is suing Google’s China subsidiary for copying its name, saying the U.S. search engine’s registered Chinese name is too similar to its own and has harmed its operations.
Spending on internet advertising ‘to double’
Spending on internet advertising in Europe will more than double over the next five years and represent almost a fifth of total media budgets by 2012, according to forecasts from American research group Forrester.
Confirmed: Microsoft’s Windows Media DRM cracked (again)
Ars Technica has been able to confirm that the latest attacks on Microsoft’s Windows Media DRM work as proclaimed. Via an update of the Individualized Blackbox component (IBX), FairUse4WM can now remove DRM for Microsoft IBX versions 11.0.6000.6324 and earlier, on both XP and Vista.
PSP slim has UMD cache, no Euro PS3 price cut
Probably the most news concerning new SKUs and systems came from Sony this week. The new slimmer Sony PSP was announced, though we don’t believe it’s that much slimmer, the availability of an extra RAM cache for the UMD drive should inevitably help speed up the games, and relieve the over-used battery, especially now games are being given the go ahead at 333MHz.
