Thailand government site hacked
p2pnet news | politics:- Thailand’s information and communications technology ministry site was sabotaged yesterday.
A hacker posted a picture of a, “smiling Thaksin Shinawatra and messages critical of the government and Council for National Security (CNS),” says the Bangkok Post.
All Net cafes and ISPs must now keep data logs so inspectors can check them.
“ICT Minister Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom said the hacker got into the website late yesterday morning, changed its standard background colour to black and posted disparaging remarks about the ‘dictatorship’, along with a picture of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra,” says the story.
CAT Telecom staff and other agencies, “were helping to track the hacker through his machine’s IP address,” according to the Bangkok Post, which adds:
“The hacker placed a picture of the deposed prime minister under a Thai flag along with offensive messages beneath the picture. The hacker also posted an anti-government song on the website.
“The ICT website was also attacked by a hacker during Mr Thaksin’s government. The hacker was arrested and later offered work as a cyber inspector.”
