p2pnet music: Syndrom Kreta

p2pnet Music Downloads | | free indie music

SYNDROM KRETA, Warsaw, Poland

Syndrom Kreta is a four-piece band hailing from Warsaw in Poland.

Syndrom Kreta? Mole Syndrome in English ;)

Formed only last August, they became ‘official’ this May and are now going flat out to make their mark on- and offline.

Cybul (drums) and Goryl (bass) have been playing together since the 1980s when Poland was still under Communist rule.

Then, “all the texts had to be censored and when underground music was by definition about protesting and fighting,” they say.

They both ended up playing in different bands, finally reuniting last summer when they decided to organise a new group. Michal added his grunge guitar, and Robert completed the lineup with his with the hard-rock sound.

Goryl and Michal form dual roles as vocalists and songwriters

Syndrom Kreta haven’t been around long but, performing mostly in local Warsaw pubs, they’ve already amassed a substantial fan base, topping some Poland’s Net charts with a mix of punk, grunge and hard rock.

Says the band:

Pomnik (the Monument) speaks about monuments of ancient heroes (communists guys) that nobody cares about and where drunkards come and pee.

Pracodawca (the Employer) is about employers who do not care about the hard work of people but just use them to get more work done.

Dlaczego (Why?) asks about the motivation to get up and do things.

Last but not least, Kamienica (the Building) describes the life in the suburbs of Warsaw in big anonymous and dirty buildings.

Cheers!

Hey, I’m really pleased to see the new music downloads section finally come to life on p2pnet, but I’m wondering if you have considered uploading the songs to Last.fm, and putting p2pnet as the label? It’ll gain a ton of extra exposure, both for the music and p2pnet, and it’s free, so I can’t see what the drawbacks would be to doing this. Just a thought, and keep the music coming.
