COLD JOON, Tampa, Florida, USA
Cold Joon was formed in 1995 as a ‘Culture-Pop’ eclectic hybrid that combined traditional West African percussion and dance with pop,Caribbean flavors, and R&B.
The band has since released four studio albums.
- Urban Rhino (2006)
- Time to Go (2004)
- Gnu & Improovd (2003)
- Cold Djun (1995)
Led by Tom King, aka Cold Jr, Cold Joon has embraced a revolving and evolving roster of musicians from three continents that, at one time or another, have come together to play live and/or record Cold Joon songs – musicians like Senegalese djembe master Malick Sow, American bass composer Ray Villadonga, Cuban percussionist Freddy Montes, and many more (okay, including several vocal stints from yours truly).
The band often performs with the Dundu Dole Urban African Ballet.
Live performances are more like experiences…featuring high energy fun, dancers, costumes, and positive, conscious lyrics.
Cold Joon is a ‘one of a kind’ band with a unique and original vision guaranteed to make you move … and think!
Cheers!
Maggie Council

trying now those three songs out of curiosity (and will check the other few mp3s they offer on their side themself.
Have a little complaint/suggestion though:
Me is a bit irretated that the naming is %TITLE% – %ARTIST% instead of the “normal” other way round. When in canada, do as canadians do or what?
While this orthodox naming sheme and the s p a c e s in the filename might be excusable, the total absence of ANY(!) meaningful Tagging is absolutely unexcusable. “Track 01″ is useless in any kind of ordering system.
in case Maggie works with windows, i know that there are a few nice MassTaggers out there that make tagging easy and fast.
My personal favourite is http://mp3tag.de/en/index.html
Just my unimportant 2 (euro)cent.

Thanks, Alter_Fritz, for the pointers. Despite years of associating with Jon, I am still somewhat technologically dyslexic.
I will check out the link.
Also please keep in mind that the songs you are hearing on this site are the oldest ones [from 1995]. The band has gone through some morphing since. I’ve asked Cold, Jr. to provide me with some fresh mp3s.

I agree that proper tagging of the songs is nice I dont mind editing the song title into the song after I download it.
