Microsoft Hungary office raid
p2pnet news | product news:- “True freedom begins now,” says the text on Microsoft’s site in Hungary.

However, the company may have taken things a little too far, says a rival firm.
Hungary’s competition authorities have raided Microsoft Magyarország in Budapest because they’d, “become concerned about the software giant’s promotional tactics,” says the Budapest Business Journal.
Quoting MarketWatch, “Microsoft can confirm that its offices in Hungary were visited by the Hungarian Competition Authority on Thursday 19 July,” the story has Microsoft spokesman Guy Esnouf saying.
“We are cooperating fully with the Hungarian Competition Authority.”
Says MarketWatch:
“According to media reports, the visit was prompted by a complaint from local Microsoft Hungary rival Open SKM Agency, an affiliate of Sun Microsystems Inc. Open SKM Agency distributes the Hungarian version of StarOffice.
“The Competition Office wanted to learn more about loyalty rewards offered by Microsoft that allegedly dissuade local customers from buying competing software, reports said.”
