p2pnet launches podcasts

p2pnet news | p2p:- Hi everyone:

Now the new p2pnet is up and running, I’m finally adding another feature I’ve been after for a long time: podcasts.

Actually, I tried this back in 2002, but I couldn’t easily reduce the wave files to a manageable size and making MP3s wasn’t a breeze like it is today.

So, from now on I’ll be making p2pnetcasts of selected stories which’ll be identified small microphone icons on the right. Just click it to hear me (or someone else ;) ) read the story.

If you’d like to get into this with me, great. Just pick a post I haven’t done – and there’ll be plenty of those – and send the results to me at p2pnet @ shaw dot ca.

As with everything else on p2pnet, the p2pnetcasts will be published under Canadian Creative Commons license.

Other than taking careful note of that, use them in any way that takes your fancy : ) and if you do, please link back to p2pnet.

Cheers! And thanks. And all the best …
Jon

Every once in a while you may want to do something a bit more than just reading existing stories. Some of the most interesting stuff I listen to are from http://twit.tv which is an informal-style talk radio show format. Missing from these shows is always Canadian Content, even though Amber (Net at Night) is Canadian connecting in from Toronto.

It’s a good idea to have a podcast in which you read your stories out loud, especially for the blind or those of us who like audio books, but you should also, if you can, make it a point to have guest speakers too to make it conversational and interesting.

PS to Russell: I absolutely love the TWIT podcast SecurityNow!
