Video-on-demand for UK PSP users
p2pnet news | games:- Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and BSkyB satellite broadcaster say they’ve formed a joint venture company to sell video-on-demand to PlayStation Portable owners in the UK and Ireland.
“BT already has a deal with Sony to turn the PSP into a communications device offering everything from text messaging to video and voice calls under a four-year deal announced in May,” says Guardian Unlimited.
PSP users, “will be able to download anything from entertainment – possibly including Sky One hit Battlestar Galactica – to sports content,” says the story.
Discussions are are underway across Europe to for similar services, but the companies haven’t said anything about their plans for Australian all US markets, says CNET News, adding:
“Sky has offered an on-demand video service since the end of March, which allows users to watch programmes from channels such as MTV Trax, E!, Extreme Sports and CNN on 3G-capable mobile phones.”
