‘ExamEar’ hearing aid angers UK
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- A tiny Canadian receiver which fits snugly, and invisibly, into a user’s ear has angered the British government.

“No more breaking your head over a difficult tests or exam,” said the sales blurb —— “said” because the site is now reporting it’s under construction.
However, thanks to Google caching, we can reveal it once reported:
- No more memorizing long and boring speeches
- No more screwing your friends or group members
- No more thinking about getting caught by using old notes – paper techniques
And were that not enough, “Listen to music whenever you want, at any time – in class.”
Says The Telegraph, “Teenagers may be using James Bond-style hidden earpieces to cheat in school exams, the Government`s exam watchdog has warned. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority is investigating concerns students could be using the devices to communicate with accomplices who supply them with answers.”
Students using the device called, appropriately, the ‘ExamEar,’ “could be silently called on their mobile phone by an accomplice outside while they could talk back to them via a tiny microphone sensitive enough to pick up whispers,” says the story, going on:
“Alternatively they could use the devices to listen surreptitiously listen to exam notes prerecorded on to an mp3 music player.”
The $185 basic model costs $185, but, “the chips of the micro earphones are not made in Chine [sic], nor the Far East,” says the Toronto company which makes the hearing aid. Rather, it’s “produced in a European country with strict health regulations. You get a quality, not a hand’s made product.”
