Smokin’ Xbox Wireless Racing Wheel

p2pnet news | Games:- Already on the hook for an estimated $1.15 billion for repairs to their XBox, Bill and the Boyz now admit they’ll have to give users a free retrofit to the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel following reports of ’smoking’ when mains power units are attached.

A component in the wheel chassis “may overheat and release smoke when the wheel is plugged in to an electrical outlet,” says Associated Press.

There’ve been no reports of, “fire, personal injury or property damage resulting from the component failure in the wheel,” according to AP, but Microsoft says owners of the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel should stop using the AC/DC power supply until they’ve had the unit fixed.

However, “They may continue to operate the wheel using battery power,” says the story.
