UK’s GPS-powered BlackBerry 8310

p2pnet news | Mobiles:- Vodafone network customers in the UK will be the first in line for Canada’s new BlackBerry Curve 8310 with built in GPS satellite navigation.

“Combining its built-in GPS functionality with Vodafone Sat Nav, the BlackBerry Curve 8310 becomes a powerful all-in-one navigation system packed into a very small and stylish design,” boasts Vodaphone.

Specs?

  • Price – £128 (about $257)
  • Talk time – four hours
  • Standby time – 17 days
  • Weight – 111g
  • Dimensions – 107 x 60 x 15.5 mm
  • Frequency – GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • Camera Resolution – 2.0 megapixel

“The Vodafone Sat Nav application is powered by Telmap satnav technology,” says Tech.co.uk, adding:

“It provides detailed route planning and GPS navigation, with live traffic updates, traffic jam alerts and extensive points of interest information, such as restaurant reviews. The over-the-air updated mapping information uses Vodafone’s network to refresh maps stored on the BlackBerry as you need it.”

The UK exclusivity deal runs from the launch date, September 3, until the end of October.

Expect to see Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Curve 8310 doing well on eBay between those dates.
