OJ Simpson ‘hotel assault’ tape

Only this time, it isn’t Vannessa Hudgens in the nude.
Instead, it’s an audio tape of OJ Simpson, jailed without bail after being arrested for his alleged part in an armed robbery.
He’s charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm.
If he’s convicted, he could be jailed for up to 35 years.
Assault with a deadly weapon
Simpson, 60, “was being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas,” says the Los Angeles Times, going on:
Simpson has said he and his companions went to the room at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino on Thursday night to reclaim personal photos – some taken by his slain ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson – and football souvenirs he said were stolen by a former agent. He said that no one in his group was armed; police said Sunday that they found two guns after the incident and that members of Simpson’s entourage had pointed weapons at people in the room.
He’s been claiming innocence but an audio tape identifies him as being at the scene of the crime, says TMZ.com, which is running it online.
“You think you can steal my shit and sell it,” demands a voice TMZ.com says is Simpson’s, repeatedly asking angrily, “You steal my shit?”
Copies of the tape were circulating last night.

Meanwhile, the original recording was made by Tom Riccio, co-owner of the auction house Universal Rarities, says TMZ, going on:
We’re told Riccio was on hand to help Simpson prove certain memorabilia being auctioned by Alfred Beardsley was ill-gotten. Riccio says he believed Simpson was going to confront Beardsley in the hotel room to give him an ultimatum – either hand over the goods or Simpson would call the cops.
Riccio turned his Olympus digital voice recorder on before the group entered the room — a group that included Simpson and four other men. Almost immediately, Simpson went wild, hurling profanities at Beardsley and another memorabilia dealer, Bruce Fromong.
The confrontation lasts six minutes.
A bail hearing is slated for Wednesday.
