Screwed my windows 2000 machine up :( Had just reinstalled windows....... after installing the April 2004 security patch the system seemed to hang for a few seconds on the login screen....not too much of a problem.....had been fine for a few days...then I TURNED OFF my parrallel microtek phantom scanner (whilst machine was off!!) .. when i rebooted it sorta got stuck on the login screen - couldnt enter password or clcik on anything - it just hung (mouse would move though) - managed to boot it into Safe Mode (everything still hanging badly). Advised as per the MS article - turned off IPSec Policy Agent service. Still causes the same problem....... Turned the scanner on and rebooted - worked fine (apart from the slight hang at the login screen - that the patch caused before).... grrrrrr ......
