Does movie union owe actors $7.75M?

p2pnet news | Movies:-Leave It to Beaver” star Ken Osmond says the Screen Actors Guild failed to tell him and other actors it had accumulated more than $8.1 million in foreign levies since 1996.

“The union distributed only about $250,000 of the money, according to the suit,” says the Los Angeles Times.

Does SAG have anything to do with the corporate music industry’s SoundExchange?

It could owe ‘missing musicians’ as much as $5.7 million.

Nahhh.

Osmond, “filed the suit Tuesday in state court in Los Angeles, alleging SAG’s mishandled those funds and hasn’t informed members about those funds or paid them out,” says Variety, going ojn:

“It also alleged the guild lacks the authority to handle those funds in the first place.

“The complaint, which seeks class-action status, is similar to lawsuits that were filed against the WGA and the DGA in the past year and have subsequently consolidated. The suit said the class action could cover over 30,000 actors.”

I have got tired of how many years corporations keep pulling junk against the American people and the fact Canada has more freedoms then the USA. Now sometimes I feel like I rather be in Canada then the USA because the USA has become sort of a Police State like Germany back then when it was a dictatorship.

First I will start with the RIAA. They are constantly suing thousands of Americans, people are afraid of the police cause of lawsuits, people are just afraid of the cops for something that is ethical, and yet it is illegal to download music in the USA. In canada it is Ok to download copyrighted music for personal purposes.

Yet the USA educational system is degrading and falling, so many children are now wanting to be homeschooled anymore, school shootings are getting worse, and yet I heard from a company boss named Berry said his children were more happy being schooled in Canada. then in China which is what our schools have become. So USA Schools are just as horrible as China.

Also Microsoft is constantly harassing us all, making us activate the products we pay for, and censoring the public at wikipedia.org. Microsoft should be arrested and sued for breaking so many laws and hurting our constitution.

Also the USA wants to spy on everyone to protect children from harm but now innocent people are being arrested and some innocent people that have been hacked have been accused of child porography.

Yet in Canada they are concerned about our privacy more. They are more worried about ethics then us. If there are less crimes commited since filesharing isn’t illegal there would be no need for government surveillance. Juts spy to stop terrorists, not filesharers.

I wish America can go up to Canadian standards and the standards we want in a free country. I feel like we are not a free country anymore but a Police States of America (PSA) and we have become a communistic country.

I hope this country becomes free and moral again and a country we can be proud of and a country we would wanna live in.

Don’t let America fall into the standards of Totaliterian rule, and into the standards of China

I agree except we are leaning more towards fascism than communism. We are expected to act against our interests in order to help the corporations (see DMCA) or surrender our freedom and lives to fight wars that were started for our ‘protection’ (see Iraq).
