I’ve used a friends iPod before and I would describe it as much less than a superior product. Its look and feel struck me as cheap and nasty; I’ve never been a fan of discoloured white.

And having to install and use iTunes to load music? Definately not for me considering the reporting home that iTunes does and the constantly shifting sand of their DRM.

I think that ’s what makes Apple so secure. I have been a “Windows guy” since Win 95. I purchased my IPhone the 2nd day with no line or waiting (in and out 10 minutes). I am so impressed that my Christmas list has change from a top of the line Denon home theater receiver ($6,500.00) to a new Big Mac with 32″ HD monitor. And yes I’ll be usung that $100.00 rebate. What a plan huh let’s see if we sell it for $599.00 then wait three months drop the price everybody will be upset but we give them $100.00 or 2 in rebate that brings back to our store for a second look andthen well have them. I am willing to bet 70% of those who got rebates will buy Mac’s this year (4 of the five guys i work with that have IPones are doing just that my self included). My hat is off too you Steve what a brillant plan.

Apple has done a tremendous job in marketing their new material as a must-have-to-be-cool-and-up-to-date. Unfortunately, most people dont know that other better products are out there. These products don’t have even a fraction of the capability issues, and cost half as much….from very respective companies that have been in the media business for years. I-trash is over priced, over hyped, and over crypted. No wonder Sony BMG wants to get in bed with them so badly.

I don’t know why people find the hypocrisy of apple surprising; they’re just another large moneygrabbing corporation.
