Memphis Minnie on the Blues Trail
p2pnet news | Music:- The Blues is where most of today’s pop and rock music started and Memphis Minnie
, aka Lizzie Douglas, is the latest blues legend to gain a position on the Mississippi Blues Commission Blues Trail.
“On Sept. 28, another marker will be unveiled at 4 p.m. in Columbus at Catfish Alley, where Big Joe Williams made his name,” says the Clarion Ledger, going on:
“Markers also will be dedicated to Rabbit Foot Minstrels in Port Gibson, starting at 11 a.m. Oct. 9; and to Tommy Johnson, starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 19 in Crystal Springs.”
Howlin’ Wolf; HoneyBoy Edwards; Muddy Waters; Robert Johnson and Willie Dixon already have places.
