BBC admits poll was rigged

p2pnet news | TV:- Auntie, or the Beeb, aka the UK’s British Broadcasting Corporation, aka the BBC, is in trouble.
Konnie Huq and Zoe Salmon have had to apologise to viewers after the BBC admitted an online poll had been rigged.
The two present Blue Peter, a children’s show, and they’d asked viewers to name a new kitten.
The kids voted for Cookie but that apparently didn’t go down too well with the production team and Cookie ended up as Socks.
Salmon said: “You may have already seen or read in the news that Cookie was the name that actually should have been given.”
Says the Beeb:
BBC 6 Music’s head of programmes Ric Blaxill has resigned after two further instances of fictional competition winners on his station were revealed.
Another rule breach concerned a film show on the Asian Network.
A, “number of disciplinary proceedings had been undertaken,” it adds.
No further details were given for Mr Blaxill’s departure from 6 Music, where fictional winners were announced on shows presented by Clare McDonnell and Tom Robinson in September 2006.
Neither Huq or Salman were aware of the deception, adds the BBC.
