$350 WTF for that money you could get a refurbished mac mini and put it under your tv. (macmini not apple tv)

this way you have a full pc/dvdplayer/PVR/jukebox etc... which most importantly could read files off your home network not just a receiver that shows whats on a pc screen somewhere in your house.

a home made VIA epica pc with linux would be even cheaper $100+

I am a computer nerd and virtually I do every thing with computer even soemtime watching mocies. However when I get reaaly serious about this I just play a CD or a DVD on my big flat screen tv with my high end audio system abd I don't want to bother booting a computer even when I do it casually. This mean that computers does not offer yet the relative ease of use of a TV or a stereo yet.

I'll stick with XBMC for the time being. The minute they manage to sus out how to get that on the 360 I'll be there. These "extenders" are geared towards the sort of people who wouldn't hesitate to spend several hundred dollars on gadgets. Not all of us are in that position.

Um isnt that waht divxplayers are for?

I can understand companies want to make something so they can be streamed wirelessly but Id much rather just burn the movie and play it on a divx player so Im not constintly using the harddrive ont eh computer. Im sure in time that would wear down the drive.
