Is Demonoid back? Or isn’t it?

p2pnet news | P2P:- Is Demonoid back? Or isn’t it?

Yesterday, “BitTorrent tracker Demonoid’s normal service has almost resumed,” I posted, “almost” because we Canadians saw only a message saying Demonoid was an apparent victim of the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association of America).

CRIA triumphs are so paltry and so few and far between that whenever one occurs, its PR hacks are immediately on the job firing out fictional ‘news’ releases which are inevitably repeated as fact by the lamescream media.

But so far, there’s been nothing about Demonoid and the site is repeating message which first appeared yesterday:

The latest changes to the site are giving us some problems – We’ll
be back soon

And that applies with or without proxies.

As a number of emails and several posts point out, demonoiders is featuring a Guide for Canadians wanting to access Demonoid via proxy, not that it’s much use at the moment.

But anyway, it says:

I have put together a few pieces of advice for you guys on accessing the site and forums via a proxy. It covers casual use and also a more serious approach (using a shell account). Here we go…

Casual users: Some proxies have been mentioned elsewhere. They are;

1. roboproxy

2. http://www.hideu.net

3. proxyninja

4. http://tools.rosinstrument.com/cgi-proxy.htm

5. http://temp12.co.uk/

6. http://anonymizer.nntime.com/

Another excellent and fast proxy is;

http://www.fastbypass.com

Note to all readers: This is a request to post ONCE and make a list of reliable proxies and keep it updated. Any posts which double up can be deleted by me or another mod every so often. Volunteers please step forward…

Meanwhile, the story continues to unfold and with a bit of luck, we’ll have an interesting update a little later in the day.

So stay tuned.

Could it possibly mean that Demonoid might be back for Canada?

    *will definitely stay tuned*

  2. Zorg Says:

The tracker is working (and has been for several days), but the site has had that message the last few days….
…with an intermittent “server overload” graphic made out in the Demonoid theme.
Oh, in case anyone cares: I’m in Norway.

  3. yappayippi Says:

…and so the good Demon prevail of the hypocritical CRIA magician…

    - dear childrens, the story will be finished one of the following nights,
    sleep and dream well,
You, Kings and Queens of New England… ;D

  4. Eric Says:

A torrent running right now on several trackers:
    tracker.prq.to – not working
    tv.tracker.prq.to – not working
    sumotracker.org – sporadic
    denis.stalker.h3q.com – refused connection
    inferno.demonoid.com – working

  5. Brandon LaRocque Says:

It seems, to me anyways, that compared to a week ago, the seed count on Demonoid is a helluva lot lower…

  6. neo Says:

aviable by tor extention with torbutton for firefox

  7. fonzer Says:

all proxy sites are threatened and you can’t get on demonoid from them.
