iPod flamed in man’s pocket

p2pnet news | Mobiles:- It seems Jerry Lee Lewis’ Great Balls of Fire nearly came true in Atlanta.

And it was all thanks to an Apple iPod which, says an Atlanta man, caught fire in his pants pocket.

Luckily, Danny Williams had some glossy paper in his pocket and that, “may have shielded him from getting burned by the fire,” IDG News Service has him saying.

iPods are powered by a lithium-ion battery which have a, “history of catching fire in laptops,” says the story, going on:

Since December 2005 these batteries have been blamed for meltdowns and fires in several computers. Last year several manufacturers, including Apple, Dell Inc., and Lenovo Group Ltd. were forced to recall millions of the batteries.

Apple wasn’t “immediately available for comment,” but the company wants Williams to return the music player, says IDG.

The iPod was two years old, adds the story.

(Thanks, Sam)

It is because they play a ripped song from a Sony CD that has a rootkit.
It was an Horin Hash idea to put a rootkit in a music CD to burn down computer.
Computer are too tuff with all their fire wall, spyboot, rootkit detector symantec stuff but digital music player. . .

    Ha! Good job Sony Haha!

Listening to RIAA music is illegal. If you think this is too harsh think about the Talibans banning the music completly in Afganistan even if it is not from 4 big four sworm of parasites. I am considering to move back to Afganistan so that I will be able to have the music pirate carrted. Thank you talibans!
