Monkey's open letter to the RIAA,

Ever since you sued Napster out of existence I have been reading various posts and letters with suggestions on how you can improve your business model to fit with the times. I have some different advice for you. Continue to ignore all the well meant advice given to you. Stay with your 1980's business model of selling CD's as your major source of music distribution. Continue to insist that anyone wanting to sell your music digitally charges the same as if they bought the CD, and that the digital music file is loaded with DRM, is in a proprietary format, and is not transferable between different types of digital media. Keep suing all your customers for file sharing; after all any publicity is good publicity, right? Please don't change anything, keep on going exactly the way you have been, it is a strategy that will insure you will be around for many years to come.

Just change a few words and this could be a letter to Bush, to get out of Irak and use the money to work on health, ecology and the economy instead.

The parallels are there.

RIAA sues the weak. Bush invades the weak. RIAA for money. Bush for oil. RIAA "for artists". Bush "for peace".

RIAA: File sharer suspects have no privacy. Bush: Terrorist suspects can be tortured.

But never mind. Americand don't get it.
