Paul McCartney and ex-wife, Heather Mills are, “close to reaching an agreement over a divorce deal claimed to be worth as much as £60m after a secret meeting at the High Court in London,” says The Independent.
The no-longer-happy-couple, “began the first stage of a mediation process that ius designed to find common ground between the two parties over the financial value of the settlement,” says the story.
£60,000,000 was worth $121,676,587.74 at 5:05 Pacific.
The, “matching of Fiona Shackleton, lawyer for Sir Paul McCartney and Anthony Julius, who is acting for Heather Mills, is replay of another high-profile contest that took place more than a decade ago,” says Times Online, adding:
Both lawyers will have charged an estimated £500 an hour for the McCartney case, putting them top of a league table of ‘most mentioned lawyers’ in the past 12 months.

MCartney was stupid enough to marry without a prenuptial agreement, so he deserves to be taken to the cleaners. It’s not like he’s going to be in the poor house anyway, with £500+ million.

The laws are out of date, there was a time when the woman life was c entered around the home and family. They had no way to make a living but things have changed. This type of settlement for today is wrong, take what they made while they were married and divide that figure and exclude the amount he had before they married. Today I believe there are many females out there just looking for the fat pocket book, get him to marry for few years , divorce and take half.

Paul, I’ve laways love you as my favorite Beatle, from way back in ‘63! This is just money, and no one gets to take it with them.
