Beyonce China bound, sexy gear included

p2pnet news | Music:- China’s broadcasting watchdog has banned all sexually suggestive advertising on radio and television, said official state newsagency Xinhua, recently, continuing:

“Commercials featuring sexually suggestive language or behavior or featuring scantly dressed women were ‘detrimental to society,’ the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) said in a circular.”

That may present a problem for whoever’s promoting Beyonce’s upcoming Shanghai stage show.

She’s not famous for being over-dressed and refused to drop her trademark sexy outfits for a Malaysian performance, which was consequently cancelled.

“All stations are prohibited from broadcasting commercials and programs involving drugs, sex-related health supplements, drugs for sexually transmitted diseases, sex toys, as well as ‘vulgar’ ads for breast enhancement and female underwear, according to the circular’,” said Xinhua, not that we’re suggesting advertisements for her Shanghai performance would fall under any of the above categories.

But she might qualify under ’sexually suggestive’ and ’sexually suggestive’ ads and, “bad ads not only mislead consumers seriously and harm public health, but are socially corrupting and morally depraving, and directly discredit the radio and TV industry,” says the agency story.

Chinese officials are also sensitive about the propriety of Western acts, says Associated Press, adding:

“They told the Rolling Stones not to sing some of their racier hits and canceled a performance by Beyonce’s boyfriend, Jay-Z, after deeming his lyrics ‘vulgar’.”
