MySpace, Sony BMG in harmony
p2pnet news | Music:- MySpace is becoming a major power in the land.
On the heels of an announcement that it’s struck a deal with Skype, eBay’s shaky online telephone outfit, comes further news that it and Big 4 organised music cartel member Sony BMG have agreed a music licensing deal under which MySpace will “allow” users to stream music videos and “certain songs and other content” in full, “in return for a share of advertising and sponsorship revenues”.
As part of the deal, “MySpace will promote Sony BMG artists through banner ads and other avenues,” continues the Hollywood Reporter, adding:
“Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.”
