New Starwars TV series

p2pnet news | TV:- Starwars creator George Lucas says he’s working on a live-action TV series based on, Yup, Starwars.

But it won’t actually be Starwars, he says.

Nor will it have anyone named Luke or Darth or Anakin in it, says the Los Angeles Times, continuing Lucas concedes he’s”taking chances” with an audience, “expecting the familiar mythology”.

He, “joked that the series would be about ‘the life of robots’ but wouldn’t let any details slip about the true premise,” says the story, adding:

Lucas already has another television series percolating: Lucas Animation has been working for months on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” a computer-animated series that he hopes will introduce a new era of visuals to weekly episodic television. Lucas plans to produce it through his own companies before shopping the finished product to networks.

That model may also be used for the live-action show, although producer Rick McCallum said Tuesday that it’s too early to say. McCallum is interviewing writers for the live-action series.

Now, “George Lucas is looking for writers for a planned TV series about the famed galaxy far, far away,” says Cinema Blend.

“According to ‘multiple sources’ who spoke to Entertainment Weekly, Lucas is coming to Los Angeles next week to meet with ‘writers of real significance,’ and plans to bring the chosen ones to Skywalker Ranch for a week to work on ideas for the series.”

The series might take place in the time between episodes three and four, “Darth Vader’s rise to power that Obi-Wan Kenobi refers to as ‘the dark years’,” says the story, saying, “Lucas won’t be writing or directing any of the episodes, just producing and providing the money.”

Yes, but will it be able to beat MetaCafe’s Darth Vadar meets the Japanese Police?
