He’ll be the new captain James Kirk in yet another movie based on the hallowed Star Trek TV series.
It’s said to be set in the time before Kuruck, as Scottie used to call him, was in command of the Enterprise.
Eric Bana is the villain in the film, “which will be some sort of re-boot - a ‘when they were young’ Star Trek, kind of like when a character opens up a high school yearbook, notices their first crush and has a flashback,” says Cinematical.
“Muscle-bound bit-player Karl Urban” will play Doctor Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy with Simon Pegg as Scotty, John Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Leonard Nimoy as classic Spock and Zachary Quinto as new Spock, says Cinema Blend.

star treck doesnt deserve a bad cheap series making money from its name tbh! =)
Hope they make it a good series that reflects star treck and not something cheesy just to bring in some cash, like other movies gone to serie by some b-company..

leave star trek alown one can never recreate the original!
a series set in the same time frame but on another ship possibly ok but each incarnation of startrek has been worse than the last.
