He was, well, you know —- gay.

That’s what Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling says, and she should know.

At the close of her Open Book Tour at Carnegie Hall yesterday, when a fan from Colorado asked about the top wizard’s love life, Rowling said she always thought of Dumbledore “as gay,” says Bloomberg News, going on:

“But things didn’t turn out with Grindelwald, his mental equal, who died in 1945.”

Now you know.

Meanwhile, “Nine-year-old Matthew Rupolo, a fourth-grader at P.S. 5, the Huguenot School on Staten Island, said he was ‘jumping up and down’ when he was chosen to ask a question at the event.”

He was given an autographed Harry Potter book.

What’s he going to do with it?

“I’m gonna start reading,” the story has him saying.

“And when I’m done with this, I might sell it.”

But of course.
