Read the whole thread Mr Irons.

No matter how you spin it, you used financial clout to shut down a
site you don't like.

" Unfortunately, their was no legal basis in your claims, which, to add insult to injury, includes works of composers also in the Public Domain in Austria. "

You wanted to use your cash clout to remove Public Domain music ?
sounds like bullshit.

" This site was operating meticulously to follow the laws of Canada, in which it was operating. It has no legal obligation under Canadian law to follow Austrian laws, as copyright laws are limited to the territory of a country. "

Important to note.

" The problem is that this is a volunteer run operation, where the proprietor does not have the financial and legal resources to counter your acts in the preferred way, which in my opinion is to resist these claims in court. "

Now THAT is the key frame.
Not enough money to fight this the way it should be fought.
You knew this from the start.
Financial censorship, followed by media controlled propoganda.
After all, the rich man in the suit would NEVER lie, eh ?

Yes, read the response, and the rest of the thread as well.

It still boils down to financial censorship.

This is my personal favorite qoute ....

" In Afghanistan under the Taliban, music was outlawed all together, would you want them to be able to enforce their laws world-wide. "

This is exactly what the RIAA are doing to russia.
What you did to THIS site.

Someone should ask the publisher to prove (royalty reports and cancelled checks) how much they have paid in royalties to the composers (or their decendants) who died over 50 years ago.

Probably nothing.

Anyway, the blockade works against the composers (or their decendants), since it reduces the possiblity of the works being recorded and performed and increases the possibility of the works fading from history.

Of course, publisher work only for themselves. Never for the composer, who usully gets nothing in return for their work or genius.
